0 – 1 Week
Immediately after birth your baby should be administered the first dose of Oral Polio Vaccine and BCG. This is also the right time to give your baby Hep B which will protect her against Hepatitis B.
The first dose of DPT and Hib vaccine must be given during this period. As your baby gets frequent attacks of diarrhoea during this stage, the first dose of Rota Virus should be given. Similarly the first dose of Injectable Polio Vaccine is also given at this stage.
On the other hand the second dose of Hepatitis B will be given during this period too.
The second dose of DPT and Hib will be given during this period so as to protect your baby from Haemophilus, Diphtheria, Pertusis and Tetanus.
Conversely the second dose of Rota Virus and injectable Polio Vaccine is also administered at this stage.
Now the third dose of DPT, Hib, Rota Virus and Injectable Polio Vaccine is also given at this stage
Now your baby is six months old and you can give the next dose of Oral Polio Vaccine and the third dose of Hepatitis B Vaccine.
Once your baby is 9 months old, the second dose of Oral Polio Vaccine is given. On the other hand, the first dose of Measles and MMR are given.
9 – 12 Months
As your baby turns nine months of age she needs to be vaccinated against Typhoid. Your doctor will give the first dose of Typhoid Vaccine during this period.
On the other hand if you are staying in an area where Japanese Encephalitis is common, the first dose of Japanese Encephalitis is given.
Now your baby is celebrating his first birthday. Give him Hep A which is a hepatitis A vaccine.
Now Your first year job is done.
