How is the transmission of COVID-19 in children different from flu?

As we know COVID-19 outbreak continuously growing and it’s one symptom is similar to Flu. That is why the people around the world started comparing the coronavirus to the flu. Parents are much worried about how is the transmission of COVID-19 in children different from flu?

Both viruses trouble respiratory function of our body. There are still significant differences between viruses and how they disperse. Research is in the process to develop a new sensor that can explain the disparity between the two diseases.

COVID-19 and flu viruses have similar disease indication. They both affect respiratory function and which illustrates as a wide range of illness from asymptomatic or mild through to serious illness and death.
Both diseases have similar symptom

  • Headache.
  • Feeling very tired.

Both the viruses are transmitted by touch and droplets. Both cases follow the same public health guidelines, such as hand hygiene and fair respiratory manners. Like coughing into your elbow or using tissue and immediate disposal of the tissue. These are significant actions all can take to avoid illness spreading.

The transmission speed in flu is very high compared to COVID 19 viruses is an important difference between both the viruses.

Influenza has a shorter median incubation period shorter serial interval than COVID-19 virus. The serial interval for COVID-19 virus is figured to be 5-6 days, while the influenza virus, takes 3 days.it means that influenza can disperse faster than the COVID-19. 

 Infections transmission from one infected person to another is believed to be between 2 and 2.5 for COVID-19 virus. This is higher than for influenza. However, estimates for COVID-19 and influenza viruses are very time-specific, making direct comparisons is more difficult.  

Children are significant transmission drivers flu and they get easily infected with flu virus. Children have low immunity.

COVID, 19 data says children are less affected by a coronavirus and that indicates proper care can save children. As per WHO data children belong to the least affected group that is 0-19 year. clinical outbreak rate in the 0-19 age group is surprisingly low. As per preliminary data from household transmission studies in China indicates about how children are infected and affected by youths.

Though Russian President Mr Putin declared about the first vaccines and it is successfully injected to her daughter also. It’s still a matter of debate.
