Dear mother ,there are lots of benefits of keeping your baby near you .your baby stay in your arm reach.Sometimes it becomes really tough to make a harmony between sleeps and your baby.It might be possible your can get irritated if you are not done with your night sleeps.You are suppose to have few naps in between.If you are alone can cause harm and dangerous for your baby.
Few things you should keep in your mind for the safe and sound sleep of your baby :
- Sleep with your baby in your room. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that babies sleep in arm reach to their parents, within view and reach, Initially for first year lots of attention requires and you can not deny ,later on your responsibility increases.Beacuse not your baby is more active and started walking as well .Your sensor should be always on.
- Best sleeping position for your baby:Best position for your baby sleep is lying your baby on her back. Never place your baby on her tummy or her side to sleep. Baby usually started rolling at the age of 2-3 month .In that case side to side lying position is also not good .Parents are still advised to place their babies on their backs to sleep.
- Avoid using crib . Crib bumpers were initially used to keep a baby’s head from getting caught between the vertical crib slats.There is certain parameter that is the amount of space permitted between the vertical slats on all cribs. Crib bumpers are as designed which can increase the risk of suffocation, strangulation, and entrapment.It ios strictly not advised by many leading children’s health and safety experts.Few countries like Maryland and Chicago have banned the sale of crib bumpers altogether.
Other Side of Keeping together your Baby
Kangaroo care or skin-to-skin care, practice of holding your newborn baby on your bare chest/breast, with a blanket draped over your baby’s back. Skin-to-skin contact benefits both you and your baby.It can begin immediately after delivery or may start after they are more stable. Even very small babies with major health issues or on a mechanical ventilator can benefit from these short sessions. Once your baby is stabilized, sessions should be at least an hour as anything less can be stressful for your baby.
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome
Bed sharing and Breastfeeding are two powerful tools to avoid and almost stopping the chances os SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) which is very common now a days .Both are the natural solution This reduces lots of your worries like night breast feeding ,nappy changing . The AAP recommends room-sharing over bedsharing and suggests that if a mother does bring her baby into the parents’ bed for a nighttime feeding, that she returns her baby to the crib after the feeding.
